Last week in Taipei, Vivotek Inc., founded in the year 2000 and based in Taiwan, held a press conference with selected members of the media to introduce the board of the top-management team and to answer questions and concerns about the company and its current and future activities.

Having experienced changes and influences caused by the Sino-US trade war in 2019, in December, Vivotek decided to take precautionary measurements and to increase the stock of parts and accessories. Further, with the added concern of the COVIC-19 (novel corona virus) outbreak from Wuhan China, in early January 2020, there are more than 80 cities in China that are still completely closed or under 'lock-down" by city management; these factors have resulted in a delay in staff returning back to work after the Chinese New Year holiday that began on 23rd January 2020 there.

"Though less than 20% of parts are supplied from China, Vivotek with all its production facilities in Taiwan has sufficient stock on parts still." Owen Chen, Founder and CEO of Vivotek, emphasised, "The shipments of current orders will be on schedule by April 2020."

Vivotek has restructured into two profit centres:  the Brand Business Group and the ODM Business Group.  William Ku, Executive VP, is the head of the Brand Biz Group, while Gordon Chen, Executive VP, is the leader of the ODM businesses. Both business groups, though sharing the corporate's technology edges and know-how, will each perform their individual activities and targets with their own R&D engineers and sales teams.

For the new year, Vivotek will focus on developing products featuring AI + Cyber-security enhancement for growing applications in different vertical market segments - such as Smart Traffic/Transportation,  Hi-tech Precision Plants (Smart Manufacturing), Smart Retailing, and others.  With inventory facilities in the US, Europe and Asia, Vivotek aims to penetrate global markets further with prompt and yet better delivery and service. "It is not easy, but we will push our business root in to several major markets," said Alex Liao, President of Vivotek, "The key is on localisation."

Today as the company begins its 20th year, Vivotek has over 1,000 employees at its offices and factories based in Taiwan and throughout dozens of staff at branch offices abroad.  With the aim of localisation from now on and for the future, in year-2020, Vivotek plans to recruit more sales staff for their branch offices worldwide.
