Dahua enhances video surveillance for Bank of Brazil

Hangzhou, China

Dahua Technology has collaborated with Banco do Brasil S.A. (Bank of Brazil) in order to carry out the upgrade of DVRs and analogue cameras in the bank security system. The project not only involves many cities in Brazil but also uses more than 20,000 units of analogue cameras and 1,500 units of DVRs.

Banco do Brasil S.A. (Bank of Brazil) is the largest Brazilian and Latin American bank by assets, and the third by market value and is headquartered in Brasília, founded in 1808. It is the oldest active bank in Brazil, and one of the oldest financial institutions in the world.

As time has moved on, banking security has become an increasingly important factor in safeguarding investments, people and assets. The products that Bank of Brazil were using before were becoming out dated and no longer met the more demanding needs of the bank. As a result they recently decided to replace the existing DVRs and the analogue cameras and to upgrade their whole bank security system. One of the first things that impressed the bank about the Dahua line was the compatibility of the products. The new DVRs and analogue cameras were able to function in accordance with the bank's original system perfectly. Meanwhile the monitoring centre equipment offered by Dahua was placed in the exisitng control centre room.

The DVR2116H digital video recorder from Dahua is an entry-level DVR which features H.264 dual-stream video compression and supports 1 SATA HDD up to 4Tb, 2 USB interfaces are available and it supports mobile P2P function. In order to meet the requirements of the bank, Dahua tested each version of their product in order to obtain the optimal performance.

The bank was already familiar with Dahua’s analogue cameras and the good reputation of the company. After all the tests, Dahua ensured that all the analogue cameras were capable of optimised infrared effect, colour adjustment and faster response to colour conversion.

The Dahua command and control centre is an integrated system which consists of a computer and management software. It is able to receive all the signals from the sensors, video cameras, access control systems, detection and anti-burglary alarm, fire detection and signaling systems. The control centre system provided by Dahua features information unification management and equipment set up.

Potential loss of funds is something that might happen anytime in the bank, it is therefore of obvious importance that the installation of the right products both inside and out should help the bank to catch thieves, protect customers and guard against other serious problems that threaten it. Dahua’s bank solution has been designed to keep the bank safe from potential theft, and also to guarantee a prolonged product life with much lower maintenance costs.

"This is a surely successful cooperation for both Dahua and the Bank of Brazil. We are looking forward to further cooperation with the Bank of Brazil after we have upgraded its DVRs.” said William Zhou, Sales Director of Latin-America and Africa at Dahua Technology. "Dahua has provided full technical support to the bank in order to ensure the project's success.  This might be one of the oldest banks in the world but it is equipped with some of the newest and most advanced surveillance products on the market today. ”
