For the first time in Italy, Optex is introducing Redscan Lite – the latest addition to its award-winning Lidar technology at the Sicurezza show in Milan this week. Designed to provide extremely precise and ultra-fast, short-range detection across indoor high-security environments, Redscan Lite is developed specifically for datacentres and other critical infrastructure sites.

This latest addition to the Optex portfolio, is designed to protect narrow, vulnerable indoor spaces that are difficult to protect with traditional sensors. Utilising time-of-flight (TOF) technology to accurately and precisely detect intruders within a range of 10mx10m in just 100 milliseconds, tiny gaps between server racks, false floors or skylights can be protected.

Also making its debut is the company's latest evolution in Fiber Sensys sensing technology, for advanced point detection across short and mid-range fenced perimeters. The new fence-mounted Point Defender PD500, thought to be the only copper fence sensor with cut-tolerance currently available in the market, uses intelligent detection algorithms to provide point detection within 1m across a range of 500m. This highly accurate detection makes the system well suited to sites where being able to locate and identify the precise point of intrusion is critical, including energy and utilities facilities, critical infrastructure, warehouse and logistics sites and high-end commercial premises.

“We are delighted to be returning to Sicurezza – an event that remains very important for Optex,” says Mark Cosgrave, Divisional Director – Western Europe at Optex. “Our expanded presence this year marks a new chapter for us – where we embrace new innovations and technological advancements while remaining grounded in our history. We look forward to meeting with visitors, partners and customers throughout the show and invite them to experience our latest technologies for high security environments first-hand.”

Optex is also using Sicurezza as a platform to preview two new innovations that will be launched in 2026. Visitors will get a sneak peak of Optex's next generation sensor for high-mount narrow applications new high-mounted narrow sensor and a new cloud-based system that will enable the remote monitoring, management and control of Optex sensors.
