AMG Systems, a specialist in network transmission solutions, has been involved in a project in Egypt, which saw the launch of the new 'GEM Walkway' - a 2.5km pedestrian corridor that elegantly links the grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) to the Pyramids of Giza.

As part of this transformation in Egypt's tourist area, AMG oversaw the installation and set-up of 60 AMG570's with PSU during construction. The addition of AMG Managed Switches will strengthen the safety and security of the area to allow visitors a seamless, immersive experience through Egypt's rich heritage.

The new corridor promises to transform how large numbers of visitors experience one of the world's most famous landmarks, improving the accessibility from museum galleries to the Great Pyramids.

A development for the future

This upgrade is part of a wider development project for the Pyramids of Giza, aiming to create a world-class cultural destination.

Along with AMG's high-performing managed switches, the GEM walkway hopes to reduce congestion, manage the flow of tourists more efficiently all whilst preserving the integrity of the protected historical site.

In a statement the company said, "AMG Systems are proud to be part of such a prestigious development project and look forward to working on similar projects around the world in the future".
