The awards programme recognises the most innovative companies, products, and individual talent in the IoT industry. Each year, a panel of independent and qualified judges selects the best corporations, companies, start-ups, and business leaders from the IoT sector, from hundreds of applications.

At the 2024 IoT Global Awards, Stefan Albertsson was named winner of the highly coveted "IoT Executive of the Year" award. This category sought the most creative, innovative, dynamic, or inspirational IoT executive who would not only drive sales within their own organisation but also advance the IoT industry as a whole.

The nomination stated:
