Vidsys wins best PSIM accolade

Vienna, Va

Vidsys, a provider of physical security information management (PSIM) software, has been named by Government Security News as winner of best Physical Security Information Management System at its annual Homeland Security Awards Program.
Vidsys submitted a case study on its work with the City of Baltimore to GSN for consideration. Baltimore selected the Vidsys PSIM software solution to enable city-wide situational awareness and inter-agency information sharing. This year, during a large scale public event with more than a million attendees, the City used Vidsys PSIM software to manage 662 cameras and connect the nearly 50 involved agencies into one unified command center. Other applications tightly integrated into the Vidsys solution include intricate mapping technology, weather alerts, data cast broadcasting, and social media monitoring.

“Baltimore City has realised reduced response times for our first responders, enhanced coordination and collaboration among our public-private partners,” said Lieutenant Samuel Hood III of the Baltimore Police Department. “We’ve been able to leverage the life of existing technology and respond mostly proactively in real-time to evolving situations by implementing a PSIM solution.”

Michael P. Jackson, CEO of Vidsys said, “This award is a generous recognition of the success our team has earned by providing an outstanding PSIM software platform for public and private sector clients globally. We are honoured by this recognition from GSN and our peers in the homeland security field.”

Chuck Brooks, who leads the homeland security practice at Xerox, headed the team of judges for the awards. Brooks noted the industry trend of proactive, informed risk management as a key element of this year’s technology submissions.
