Risco Group reinforces presence in North American market

Melville, NY (USA)

Risco Group is reinforcing its presence in the North American market with a number of strategic initiatives. Highlights of the plan include the launch of Risco Group USA, headed by Len Friedman as president and CEO; a new corporate headquarters in Melville, NY; the appointment of Robert Barry as VP of integration sales and support; and a carefully crafted product portfolio designed to expand business opportunities.

"Risco Group is a rapidly growing organization and the formation of Risco Group USA will help to strengthen our brand name and our position as a leader in advanced security solutions," said Mr. Friedman. "Launching the U.S. office is a milestone in the company's roadmap and provides the opportunity to realize Risco's vision of delivering the most flexible, end-to-end security systems solutions backed by superior customer support services to the North American market."

The company's parent company, Risco Group, Ltd., has been manufacturing security products for 30 years with a presence in the U.S. market that spans over 20 years as Rokonet Industries. Under Mr. Friedman's direction, Risco Group USA will focus on expanding the company's product offerings to focus on integrated system solutions that will be developed organically and through select acquisitions.

Mr. Friedman was formerly with Bosch Security Systems where he held several management positions including VP of marketing for the Americas. His industry experience also includes management positions with Ademco/Honeywell where he was one of the founding fathers of First Alert Professional Security Systems.

Recently promoted to VP of integration sales and support, Robert Barry will be responsible for establishing critical measurements for determining sales projections in addition to inventory, technical support, training programs and oversight of the Risco Engineered Services (RES). Bringing 25 years of Industry field experience to this position, Bob has an integral role in supporting Risco's Commercial Intrusion, Access, Video and Integration platforms in the United States and Canada. A professor at Farmingdale State College in New York where students can receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Security Systems, Bob teaches Physical Security in the Criminal Justice Department.

An additional component of Risco Group USA's strategy moving forward is a strong commitment to environmental issues, in manufacturing and beyond. As an important first step in this process, Risco Group's factory is now certified as RoHS compliant, as is their full line of environmentally friendly detectors.
