Civintec Android Utouch nominated for industry award

Civintec, a leading technical service company in designing and manufacturing of smart card reader devices, recently launched its Android-based Utouch terminal which has now been nominated for a PSI Premier Award 2017. 

Utouch Android 5.1 quad-core is an all-in-one general purpose management terminal, that comes with an SDK complete source code for third party systems integration, and software developer to build innovative applications, such as time attendance, access control, visitor management, club/ membership management, e-payment, kiosk services.

The innovative Utouch design, supports 13.56MHz smart card CSN or encrypted protected data from RFID smart cards utilising key diversification and mutual authentication routines, with one or more SAM for secure data encryption. It also supports BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) and NFC technology ISO18092 NFC tags and NFC smart phones in Peer to Peer mode to build effective keyless mobile applications. The TCP/IP integrated terminal connects directly to the IP network for an easy and low cost network system, with support for 4G, and Wifi making it flexible for wired or wireless communication for almost any requirement. Based on Android O.S. 5.1 and embedded 1.4GHz quad-core processor, high sensitive capacitive Touch screen it offers a faster, more efficient, intuitive and comfortable self service and user experience. The built-in battery and PoE ensure stable working operation during power failure and it utilises PoE enhanced stability for low cost installation.

Umbo Computer Vision debuts “AI events” system at Sectech

Umbo Computer Vision, an artificial intelligence startup and provider of autonomous video security products — Light, Smart Cloud enterprise management portal and Learning Cameras —  has raised a $6.8 million Series A round, bringing funding to date to $9.6M. This round was led by CDIB Venture Capital Corp, with continued participation by Appworks Ventures and Mesh Ventures and new investor Substance Capital. The funding will be used for continued development of Light, expansion of the product portfolio, computer vision R&D, and talent acquisition.
