Brickcom wins Taiwan Excellence Award

Taipei, Taiwan

The Brickcom OB-200Np-LR WDRPro-20X and GOB-300Np Star-LTE have been named in the Taiwan Excellence Awards 2016. The "Taiwan Excellence Award" was established in 1992 as a common symbol to represent quality products from Taiwan to an international audience. The winners of the Taiwan Excellence Award are considered in five key criteria: research and development, design, quality, marketing and made in Taiwan. This year the judges selected the most innovative and outstanding products from 1,180 candidates and give the honour of being named as industry leading innovators.

The Brickcom OB-200Np-LR WDRPro-20X is designed for severe environments; the built-in IR illuminators can be effective over 150 metres, making the camera capable of providing clear images in extreme low light environments. With Brickcom 120dB WDR Enhancement technology, the camera is able to display clear images in a scene even when glare, high contrast, strong backlight, and light reflection are present. Additionally, the 20X zoom with auto focus enables users to focus precisely and quickly. Brickcom also incorporates electronic image stabiliser (EIS) technology into the camera to effectively solve the problem of camera shake. The EIS function can internally detect image shake due to camera vibration, and performs digital compensation processing to suppress the shaking and stabilise the image output.

The Brickcom GOB-300Np Star-LTE is a professional bullet camera equipped with a 4G module, which allows consumers to enjoy the full-HD quality images with high-speed transmission efficiency and also saves on the cost of wiring the installation. The GOB-300Np Star-LTE is equipped with back-illuminated pixel technology and 3D-DNR technology which enables it to display clear images with ultra smooth streaming quality. On the other hand, the GOB-300Np Star-LTE is embedded with Brickcom i-mode and i-stream technology, which helps to not only build an easy-to-use platform for users to select the appropriate mode efficiently but also helps users to allocate bandwidth smartly and effectively to increase the surveillance capacity as well as effectively saving on storage space. In addition, the GOB-300Np Star-LTE is incorporated with Brickcom software technology (P2P) allowing mobile devices to be easily connected to the camera to increase the surveillance system flexibility.

Dahua Technology launches ePoE IP system

Dahua Technology Co., Ltd. is launching a system of extended Power over Ethernet (ePoE) devices including cameras, network switches and network recorders. Dahua ePoE IP system supports up to 800 metres between the ePoE camera and the ePoE network switch or ePoE NVR with an embedded switch. It overcomes the limitations of traditional Ethernet and POE (both restrict cable distances to around 100 metres (328 feet) between network ports) and eliminates the need for Ethernet extension devices or additional network switches.

The future is here - when surveillance meets AI

What will the world be like when surveillance meets AI (Analytics Intelligence)?

According to an IHS report from September 2016, security camera shipments continue to grow at 14.1% CAGR and are predicted to reach 190 million units in 2020, despite revenue growth having slowed to 8.1% CAGR. There are just too many cameras and video footage to be digested by human operators. Most security video footage is erased or over-written without being watched. Video Analytics (VA) Technology was once perceived as a solution to automate the utilisation of abundant video footage resources. By means of identifying and tagging the appearance of certain patterns in a video, the VA or AI system could perform search and run statistics on it.
